Who we are

What you are buying

Martian ID sells a novelty digital collectible: a personalized digital ID card image showing a name, a rank, a "colony" named after a real place on Mars, and a citizen number. It is entertainment only.

• It gives no real land, property, citizenship, title, rights or ownership of anything on Mars or anywhere else. Nobody can legally own land on Mars.
• It is not an investment and has no promised value. Do not buy it expecting to resell it.
• Martian ID is not connected to, or endorsed by, NASA, SpaceX, the International Astronomical Union or any space agency or government.

Ranks and seats

• Citizen ($2): unlimited.
• Mayor ($20): 3 seats per colony.
• Governor ($40): 1 seat per colony.
• President ($300): 1 seat for all of Mars, sold once.

Seats are first come, first served. A seat is held for you for about 30 minutes while you are on the checkout page. Citizen numbers are given in the order payments are confirmed.

Delivery

Your card is delivered digitally right after payment: on your card page at martianid.net and by email. Your card image is yours to keep. We plan to keep the registry online, but we can't promise the website will run forever.

Names and public display

The name you put on your card is shown publicly on the Martian ID registry and on your card page, together with your rank, colony and number. Your email is never shown. Don't use another person's name without their permission, and don't use offensive names, trademarks, or names of famous people. We may remove or change a name that breaks these rules, and refund you if we do.

Photos you add on your card page stay on your own device. We never receive or store them.

Refunds

Because cards are delivered instantly, sales are generally final. If something went wrong, like a typo in your name, a double purchase or a technical problem, email hello@martianid.net within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the law where you live.

Payments

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your receipt may show the sale as processed through Stripe's checkout service (Link). We never see or store your full card details. Prices are in US dollars.

Age

You must be 18 or older, or have permission from the owner of the payment card. Martian ID is not directed at children under 13.

Liability

Martian ID is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought applies to your purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of California, USA.
